Custom Fields for Taxonomies

Estimated reading: 2 minutes 196 views

Here are the steps to create a new custom taxonomy in CubeWP:

  1. Go to CubeWP.
  2. Navigate to “Custom Fields.”
  3. Click on “Taxonomies.”
  4. After clicking on “Taxonomies,” click on the “Add New” button to create a new custom taxonomy.

This will open a new window with options to define and configure your custom taxonomy to suit your specific needs. Custom taxonomies are useful for categorising and organising content on your WordPress website.

  • You can select your desired taxonomy from the options on the right side.
  • Once you’ve selected your taxonomy, you can proceed to fill in the desired fields and settings to configure it according to your specific requirements. These fields may include the taxonomy label, name, slug, and other options to define how the taxonomy functions on your WordPress site.

Here’s an explanation of the field settings:

  • Title of Field: This is where you specify the name or title of your custom field (e.g., “Author Name”).
  • Slug of Field: An automatically generated internal identifier for the field, typically not modified.
  • Field Type: Choose the type of field (e.g., text input, dropdown) that suits your data.
  • Description: Optionally, you can provide a brief description to explain the purpose or use of this field.
