Hi there,
I am looking at using the Yellow Books theme for an online directory but have a few questions. I have started my website already using Directorist but have been chatting with Sam and interested in seeing whether CubeWP may be a better fit (and more user friendly for someone who doesn’t have coding skills like myself).
* Are businesses able to choose / list in multiple categories? When trying the demo it seemed that only 1 category could be chosen
* Does the theme support featured listings (i.e. businesses can pay a higher fee for their listings to be displayed on home page as well as somewhere on single listing pages)
* Can additional filter categories be added to the search function?
* Can a radius search be enabled in the search function?
* Is it possible to have a ‘sort by’ function in search results ‘closest to me’ (so users can easily find businesses closest to them)?
*Can colours be changed without coding (e.g. red text when hovering on icons on home page)
* Can website users create an account in order to save / ‘favourite’ listings?
* Approx how many listings can the theme handle?
Thanks so much for your help with my queries.
Warm regards,
Amy
Hello;
Thank you for joining the CubeWP Community!
1. Yes, you can select multiple categories in both search and on the submit listing form. You just need to enable the settings from the CubeWP Post Type Form and Search Form Builder.
2. We do have a featured ad system in Yellow Books.
3. You can indeed add more taxonomies in the search.
4. If you have a Google API, the Radius search will automatically work on the search and search filters.
5. We also have a radius search function on the filters. Users can adjust the radius bar according to their desired location.
6. Yes, you can change the colors from CubeWP Settings.
7. Users can save listings even without being logged in. If you are logged in, it will show in the user dashboard under the saved tab.
8. The theme can handle unlimited data, but it’s more dependent on the server. Therefore, it’s related to the server end.
Please let us know if you have any further questions.
